DÍÓNÝSÍA er óformleg, listamannarekin vinnustofudvöl sem haldin er ár hvert í boði valins þorps/þorpa á landsbyggðinni. Vinnustofan er opin öllum listgreinum, hönnun, arkitektúr og tónlist. Það sem gerir Díónýsíu vinnustofudvölina sérstaka er að hún er óstaðbundin og einnig að lögð er mikil áhersla á að gestalistamenn séu opnir fyrir því að kynnast heimamönnum, þekkingu þeirra og hæfni, og vinna með þeim. Gisting og vinnuaðstaða er yfirleitt í boði sveitarfélagana sem einnig standa fyrir því að tengja gesti við heimamenn. Dvalið er í 10 daga í þorpinu í hópi sem samanstendru af 5-7 einstaklingum. Þarf hópurinn að koma sér sjálfur á staðinn með einkabíl, rútu, ferju eða með aðstoð heimamanna þar sem almenningssamgöngur þrýtur.

DÍÓNÝSÍA is an informal artist-run residency that is held every year in Iceland with hosts being a small village/villages. The residency is open to all art genres, design, architecture and music. What makes Dionysia special is that is it not localised, always moving from place to place, but also that emphasize is on the collaboration with getting to know the locals, their knowledge and skills, and to work with them. Accomodation and work space is most often provided by village authorities that also make effort to connect the guests with the locals. Duration of the stay is 10 days in a group that consists of 5 to 7 individuals. The participants have to travel on their own cost to the place with a private car, bus, boat or with the help of the locals where public transport does not work anymore.

The deadline for application 2011 is 9th of April this year.

Til að sækja um þarf að senda stutt bréf þar sem teknar eru fram ástæður þess að umsækjandi vilji taka þátt (minna en A4) og ferilskrá. 4 stk. myndir/hljóðbútar eða annað sem hefur með fag viðkomandi að gera ætti að fylgja textanum.

One can apply by e-mailing a short letter of motivation (less than A4) and a cv plus 4 pieces of images/audio bits or other material that is relevant as an example of ones work should accompany the text.

Vinnustofudvölunumlok í dag og á morgun laugardag verður haldinnAtburður hins ófyrirséða á Laugavegi þarsem verða sýnd verk í vinnslu og heimildir fráþví sem farið hefur fram.

The residencies finished today and tomorrow, Saturday, an Event of theUnforseen will be held at the main shopping street in Reykjavik. Wewill show works in progress and documentation from the 10 days prior.
